There’s a lot of controversy over whether or not auto DM’s – direct messages that get delivered to your twitter followers when they follow you – are a cool thing or not.

I think we’ll evolve to a point where they can be – really all depends on your message. I haven’t got mine quite right yet, but then I’m evolving too. It’s a really good opportunity to connect with the people you’re attractive to. And that can only be a good thing, yeah?

What I’ve been doing (and I don’t care if it’s their DM or them responding in person) is going to my DM’s a couple times a day and scanning through them for interesting ones – which I reply in person to – then if I really want to get their attention (’cause I think they’re cool), I @ or RT a recent tweet of theirs.

Nothing beats honest appreciation – “appreciation beats self-promotion every time” – good stuff!

It’s always interesting to me how people will hesitate to buy something for their MLM education that will help them become more valuable to their own business.

I’m reading through Magnetic Sponsoring again today and this is one of the points I completely agree with that Mike really underscores …

How important do you suppose it is to continue learning and adding to your personal skills, not just for your own sake, but so that you become attractive to your target market?  So you can add real and tangible value to the people you seek to serve?

How YOU Can Become a Welcome Resource

Thing is, you probably already know first hand just how overwhelming it can feel to dive into a new area of learning and sort the wheat from the chaff – the excellent information from the total … I’ll just say it … crap.

Information overload is the buzz word of our times for good reason. It can be totally confusing knowing who to listen to – knowing who to trust to steer you in a good direction.

And that’s where your opportunity totally lies – YOU can become that beacon of calm and certainty – a resource that people turn to because you have real value to offer. And to become the leader that you are intended to be, this is a non-negotiable piece of the puzzle. You have to become valuable to others.

To attract the people you want to attract to you to build the business — really the network — that you want to be a part of (read – have at your beck and call), you simply cannot skimp on your personal learning. And paying for information to be presented to you in a well researched and easy to use format trumps having to hunt and peck and figure it all out on your own every single time.

I have no doubt that there’s *something* that you know so intimately already that you don’t even realize would be valuable to others – just a matter of packaging it and BOOM – you’re attracting the right people to you.

Self Funded Advertising is the Name of the Game

I think the other thing that I especially appreciate about funded proposals like Mike Dillard’s  and Ann Seig’s is that once they own rights to the program, even the newest distributor has an immediate solution to the problem of weeding out time wasters from their day. It also offers an instant way to cashflow their new business.

Huge.

Let’s face it, most people don’t have hours to spend grooming someone only to have them never kick out a dime.  And it’s always better to have a venture pay for itself out of the gate.

Funded proposals eliminate this problem upfront – they have to raise their hand *some* before you go spending gobs of time on someone who’s just tire kicking – not really ready to invest in themselves and their business.  Also gives you both a foundation of solid information to get to “know one another better” around.

So how much are you spending on your business building education?

I’m gonna take a wild guess – not near enough.

Highly highly recommend Magnetic Sponsoring as the place to point people first … though I have no doubt that those who are destined to be leaders will eventually own both Mike and Ann’s systems … ’cause that just how leaders are.
