There’s a lot of controversy over whether or not auto DM’s – direct messages that get delivered to your twitter followers when they follow you – are a cool thing or not.
I think we’ll evolve to a point where they can be – really all depends on your message. I haven’t got mine quite right yet, but then I’m evolving too. It’s a really good opportunity to connect with the people you’re attractive to. And that can only be a good thing, yeah?
What I’ve been doing (and I don’t care if it’s their DM or them responding in person) is going to my DM’s a couple times a day and scanning through them for interesting ones – which I reply in person to – then if I really want to get their attention (’cause I think they’re cool), I @ or RT a recent tweet of theirs.
Nothing beats honest appreciation – “appreciation beats self-promotion every time” – good stuff!
So we had a question on our MLM Mastermind community this morning about how to set up the auto DM’s on Tweetlater. And since I’m suddenly finding it easier to do short videos to do “how to’s” I did this one to walk you through that process.

Andrea, You made me re-think DM’s. Maybe it is wise to scan them a couple of times a day and use this method as another way of connecting with cool people. Thanks for your informative article.
